NEW!
Alcohol Screening on your microplate processing
equipment!
Excellent correlation with headspace GC! Complies with
SOFT/ABFT recommendation for a second method.
Alcohol Testing on your microplate processing
equipment!
"As a general matter of scientific and forensic
principle, the detection or initial identification of drugs and other toxins
should be confirmed whenever possible by a second technique based on a
different chemical principle. …confirmation using a second GC system with a
similar though not identical column, is not usually acceptable…(emphasis
added)"
Section 8 - ANALYTICAL PROCEDURES of the SOFT/AAFS
Forensic Laboratory Guidelines
Finally! A way for alcohol testing to truly comply with
SOFT / AAFS Guidelines!
The SOFT / AAFS Guidelines are very specific in directing that testing of
drugs be performed by TWO separate technologies (one acting as a
confirmation of the other). However, until now, this was difficult in
alcohol testing. In order to screen and confirm alcohols, most labs had to
use single or dual column Headspace Gas Chromatography as both screen and
confirmation.
Now, Immunalysis is pleased to introduce a quantitative enzymatic alcohol
assay that is designed to function on a lab's existing microplate equipment!
This means a laboratory can perform its alcohol assays by two different
technologies, in compliance with the SOFT / AAFS Guidelines! The new
Immunalysis assay
·Is suitable for blood, urine or saliva
- Allows completion of 96 assays in less than one hour
- Has excellent correlation with headspace GC
results
- Generally costs less than headspace GC
consumables
Principle of the procedure
lmmunalysis Ethyl Alcohol Assay is based on the high specificity of alcohol
dehydrogenase (ADH) for ethyl alcohol in the presence of nicotinamide
adenine dinucleotide (NAD) as shown in the following:
EtOH + NAD → CH3CHO + NADH
Excellent correlation with headspace GC
In repeated comparisons, the Immunalysis assay results correlated with
headspace GC results at a 98% confidence level!

Broad linear range!
The assay is configured to offer TWO linear ranges
· 0.02g/dL - 0.40g/dL
· 0.01g/dL - 0.20g/dL
